Baseball Recap: Manheim Central's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

While Manheim Central put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for J.P. McCaskey. The Barons came out on top against the Red Tornado by a score of 4-0. The win was some much needed relief for the Barons as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

J.P. McCaskey's batters probably weren't too happy with Kyle Mylin, who pitched a no hitter and racked up eight Ks (he gave up zero walks). Manheim Central is 2-1 when Mylin allows two or fewer walks, but 0-3 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Chase Book, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Cam Thompson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Manheim Central's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for J.P. McCaskey, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Manheim Central has already played their next game, a 12-2 win against Cocalico on the 7th. As for J.P. McCaskey, they will take on Penn Manor at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Comets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.83 runs per game on average), something the Red Tornado will no doubt try to take advantage of.
