Summit faced Clarksville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Spartans fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 2-1. The Spartans' loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Maggie Kalisz paced Summit's offense, picking up 11 kills. Kalisz got some help from Amanda Shanahan and her 26 assists. Shanahan also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Madison Spelta, racking up two apiece.

Summit's defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Clarksville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 27-2.

Summit has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Dobyns-Bennett on the 20th. As for Clarksville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Ryle on the 20th.
