Recap: Cozad Haymakers vs. Maxwell Wildcats
The Cozad Haymakers won the last time they faced the Maxwell Wildcats, and things went their way on Saturday too. Cozad secured a 41-37 W over Maxwell.
Maxwell's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kristyn Cheek, who scored 9 points along with 10 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Madelyn Flock, who scored 11 points.
The win got Cozad back to even at 1-1. As for Maxwell, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cozad will take on Hershey at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Hershey focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Friday. As for Maxwell, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday.
