Baseball Recap: Riverton Gets the Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Riverton ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Mountain Ridge Sentinels by a score of 7-6 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). This was a revenge game for the Silverwolves: when they faced off against the Sentinels last Tuesday, they had to take a 7-6 loss.

Gaige Woods was incredible, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of McKade Ortiz, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Riverton's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Mountain Ridge, they moved to 11-4 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Riverton will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Sentinels: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
