The Eastmoor Academy Warriors will face off against the Walnut Ridge Scots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Eastmoor Academy will come in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Tuesday, Eastmoor Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 47-41 to South. While the Warriors didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 9-4 in the first quarter.

Despite the loss, Eastmoor Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Dekar Moultry dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance gave Moultry a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was JD Broomfield, who posted six points in addition to six rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Walnut Ridge, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They took their match on Tuesday with ease, bagging an 82-26 victory over Briggs. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 53-14.
Walnut Ridge's win came from a few key players Eastmoor Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Marquis Lucas, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 14 points and four steals. He has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jahleel Wakeel, who had nine points and six rebounds.
Eastmoor Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Walnut Ridge, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Eastmoor Academy has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 26 boards per game. However, it's not like Walnut Ridge struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.3 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Eastmoor Academy was taken down by Walnut Ridge 91-56 in their previous matchup back in January. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Eastmoor Academy was down 43-20.
