Basketball Recap: Western Alamance Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

After losing to Carrboro the last time they met, Western Alamance decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Western Alamance Warriors secured a 74-70 W over the Carrboro Jaguars on Saturday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Warriors as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Carrboro's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bakari Watkins, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten boards. Watkins' morning made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Sam Kanjorski, who posted 13 points and eight assists.

Western Alamance's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-3. As for Carrboro, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Western Alamance didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 66-62 loss against East Chapel Hill on the 30th. As for Carrboro, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 63-52 victory against Cedar Ridge on the 30th.
