Basketball Game Preview: Pickens Dragons vs. Lumpkin County Indians

Pickens is on a 16-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Lumpkin County is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Pickens Dragons will host the Lumpkin County Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pickens knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 games -- so hopefully Lumpkin County likes a good challenge.

Pickens is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Chestatee: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Pickens blew Chestatee out of the water with a 95-31 final score. The Dragons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 contests by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Lumpkin County unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 57-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Greater Atlanta Christian.

Lumpkin County's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Pickens, their win bumped their record up to 18-0.

Pickens took their victory against Lumpkin County when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 72-48. Does Pickens have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lumpkin County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
