Basketball Recap: Lawrence Free State Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Lawrence Free State came into this matchup off a tough 29-point defeat on Saturday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Shawnee Mission North Bison by a score of 53-50 on Tuesday. The Firebirds were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bison apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

Lawrence Free State's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Shawnee Mission North, the win (which was their fifth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lawrence Free State will challenge rival Shawnee Mission West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Shawnee Mission North is set to take on their familiar foe Olathe South on Friday.
