Baseball Recap: Coweta Comes Up Short

Coweta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Union Redhawks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 8-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Coweta got a good showing from Landon Fisher, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Fisher has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Coweta saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sutter Winsworth, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

Coweta's loss dropped their record down to 16-14. As for Union, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-17.

Coming up, Coweta will welcome Wagoner at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Union, they will face off against Bartlesville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Redhawks are facing the Bruins at the right time seeing as the Bruins are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
