Football Game Preview: Solanco Golden Mules vs. New Oxford Colonials

The Solanco Golden Mules will challenge the New Oxford Colonials at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Solanco sitting on ten straight victories and New Oxford on 11.

Solanco's offense will try to repeat the strong performance it gave on Friday, when they got past Warwick's usually-dominant defense. The Golden Mules breezed past the Warriors to the tune of 56-24. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-10.

Chase Sensenig had a dynamite game, rushing for 70 yards and a pair of scores on only five carries, while also throwing for 57 yards and one TD on only five passes. What's more, he posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in August. Andersen Miller made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Solanco was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 323 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 207 rushing yards in seven consecutive matchups.

Solanco didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Isaiah Wright and Miller. Wright got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, New Oxford beat Spring Grove 31-26 on Friday.

Solanco's record is now 10-1. As for New Oxford, their record now sits at 11-0.

Solanco beat New Oxford 21-10 in their previous meeting back in September of 2019. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Colonials' Abdul Janneh, who picked up 145 receiving yards and one touchdown.
