Preview: Columbia Capitals vs. Richland Northeast Cavaliers
The Columbia Capitals will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Richland Northeast Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m. Columbia comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Last Friday, Columbia took a serious blow against Gilbert, falling 78-20.
Meanwhile, Richland Northeast fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Cardinal Newman on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 52-50. That's two games in a row now that Richland Northeast has lost by exactly two points.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Zimarika Moorer, who scored 12 points along with 9 rebounds and 7 steals. Moorer is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ajaela Brown, who scored 13 points.
C.A. Johnson's victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while Columbia's defeat dropped theirs to 0-3.
