Soccer Recap: Southside Takes a Loss

While it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Southside was not quite Winn's equal in the second half on Saturday. They fell just short of the Winn Mavericks by a score of 2-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cardinals of the 3-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Southside has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 3-6-3 record this season. As for Winn, their victory bumped their record up to 3-8-1.

Looking ahead, Southside will welcome Southwest Legacy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southside's last four contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Winn, they will challenge South San Antonio at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Winn is facing South San Antonio at the right time seeing as South San Antonio is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
