Carnegie piles up the points against Temple

Recap: Carnegie Wildcats vs. Temple Tigers

The Carnegie Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 20 points or more this season. They breezed by Temple on the road to the tune of 70-29. Given Carnegie's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while Temple is ranked 472nd), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Duane Cavaness continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. The contest was his eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eddie Mandrell, who scored 11 points along with three steals.

Carnegie has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Temple, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.

Carnegie won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Sterling on January 5th. As for Temple, they will head out on the road to face off against Healdton on Saturday.
