Baseball Recap: Lyndhurst Find Success

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Lyndhurst ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They skirted past the Weehawken Indians 2-1. The Golden Bears haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Ryan Lemanowicz was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.

In other batting news, Johnny Chaname was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI. Shawn Bellenger was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one double.

Lyndhurst's record now sits at 15-8. As for Weehawken, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

Lyndhurst will be playing in front of their home fans against Leonia at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Weehawken does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
