Soccer Game Preview: Kilgore vs. Celina

The Kilgore Bulldogs will head out to square off against the Celina Bobcats at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Kilgore sitting on 16 straight victories and Celina on 21.

Kilgore is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-4 win over Sulphur Springs. The score was all tied up 2-2 at the break, but Kilgore were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Celina made easy work of Ranchview on Tuesday and carried off a 9-1 victory. Considering Celina have won 21 matchups by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Celina pushed their record up to 24-1 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up three goals over those 15 contests. As for Kilgore, their record is now 18-3-2.

Kilgore suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Celina when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Kilgore avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
