After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lakeside, Skyline was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Mount Si Wildcats. The win continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won five in a row.

Emma Gutke paced Skyline's offense, picking up 21 kills. Gutke got some help from Piper Hawryluk and her 35 assists. Finally, Tessa Reed kept Skyline's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Despite the defeat, Mount Si had strong showings from Cailyn Kadera, who had 16 digs and five aces, and Sadie Nunan, who had six digs and three aces. Nunan is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Skyline's victory bumped their record up to 4-5-3. As for Mount Si, their loss ended a seven-match streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2.

Skyline has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Issaquah on the 30th. As for Mount Si, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Newport - Bellevue on the 30th.
