Softball Recap: Riverside Takes a Loss

Riverside couldn't beat Milton-Union on Monday even though they stacked four runs on them in the sixth inning. The Pirates took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 back in April.

Miah Carman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Riverside and nudges their season record down to 12-10. As for Milton-Union, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverside will host Covington at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Milton-Union, they will be taking part in a tournament against Northwestern at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
