Baseball Game Preview: Sherman Bearcats vs. McKinney Lions

A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Bearcats face off against the Lions at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Sherman and three for McKinney.

Sherman saw some tournament action on Friday. They fell just short of Reedy by a score of 4-3. That's two games in a row now that the Bearcats have lost by just one run.

Sherman saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Gutierrez, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, McKinney didn't have quite enough to beat Anna on Friday and fell 4-2.

Caleb Blackstock was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits.

McKinney's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Sherman, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Sherman suffered a grim 9-3 defeat to McKinney in their previous meeting on Monday. Can Sherman avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
