Baseball Recap: James Monroe Comes Up Short

James Monroe lost against Independence back in April of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Mavericks came up short against the Patriots, falling 12-2. The Mavericks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kadyn Hines made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.

James Monroe's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Independence, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-8-1 record this season.

While James Monroe had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
