Softball Game Preview: Wharton Tigers vs. Brazosport Exporters

Wharton is 0-6 against Brazosport since February of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The Tigers will venture away from home to square off against the Exporters at 5:00 p.m. Wharton has given up an average of 6.8 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Wharton is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Needville, falling 13-3.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last match, Brazosport made sure to put some runs up on the board against Bay City on Friday. The Exporters put the hurt on the Blackcats with a sharp 11-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Exporters in their matchups with the Blackcats: they've now won three in a row.

Brazosport's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-9. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Wharton, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.

Wharton couldn't quite get it done against Brazosport when the teams last played back in March as they fell 9-6. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
