Volleyball Recap: Garfield Heights Takes a Loss

If Garfield Heights was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Shaker Heights last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Euclid Panthers by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Garfield Heights took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-15, 18-25, 25-23, 15-12.

Tai'Mere Mixson paced Garfield Heights' offense, picking up 14 kills. Mixson got some help from Taaran Johnson and his 32 assists.

Garfield Heights' loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Euclid, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Garfield Heights is set to square off against their familiar foe Western Reserve Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Euclid will take on rival Cuyahoga Falls at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
