Audrey Beyer commands the offense for Toros win

Recap: Tocoi Creek Toros vs. Bartram Trail Bears

Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 13 to 5 on the offensive boards, a fact the Tocoi Creek Toros proved on Friday. They walked away with a 49-42 victory over Bartram Trail. Given Tocoi Creek's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while Bartram Trail is ranked 327th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tocoi Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Audrey Beyer, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Jasmine Valcin, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Bartram Trail's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alyssa Donohue, who scored ten points along with six steals and two blocks. Donohue hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Esabella Brenneman was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.

Tocoi Creek is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Bartram Trail, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tocoi Creek will take on Creekside at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Bartram Trail, they will be playing at home against Beachside at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Beachside will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
