Softball Preview: Republic Tigers vs. Oroville Hornets

After two games on the road, Republic is heading back home. They will take on the Oroville Hornets at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Republic is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 17.1 runs per game this season.

Republic can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent match on Saturday. They blew past Curlew 27-20. The victory was just what Republic needed coming off of a 25-17 defeat in their prior contest.

Sarah McGaffey was a standout: she scored five runs and stole two bases while going 5-for-6. Another player making a difference was Jada Woods, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, four RBI, and two doubles.

Meanwhile, Oroville's 10-4 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They suffered a tough 22-4 loss at the hands of Brewster last Thursday.

Republic's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Oroville, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-3-1.
