Softball Recap: Patrick County Wins Going Away Against Atlantic Collegiate Academy

Patrick County barely beat Atlantic Collegiate Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Everything went the Patrick County Cougars' way against the Atlantic Collegiate Academy Armada on Tuesday as the Patrick County Cougars made off with a 12-5 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-7 on Monday.

Journey Moore was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Moore was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Taylor Lawless, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Lacey Sutphin, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Patrick County's win ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-0. As for Atlantic Collegiate Academy, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Looking ahead, Patrick County will head out on the road to face off against Bassett at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Atlantic Collegiate Academy, they will welcome Varsity Opponent at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
