Football Recap: Arabia Mountain Rams vs. Shiloh Generals
Arabia Mountain extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 2-6. They had to suffer through a 42-7 loss at the hands of the Shiloh Generals. The Rams were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Special teams was responsible for all of the team's points. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Collin Mason, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
As for Shiloh, they pushed their record up to 4-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.0 points on average over those games.
John Wilson produced another solid effort rushing for 103 yards and a pair of TDs on only nine carries, while also throwing for 145 yards and two touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (119). Ryan Webster was another key player, rushing for 110 yards and one score.
We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Arabia Mountain will take on rival Tri-Cities at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Shiloh is set to square off against their familiar foe Lakeside at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
