Softball Preview: Littlestown Thunderbolts vs. York Catholic Fighting Irish        
        
		
            The Littlestown Thunderbolts will head out to  challenge the York Catholic Fighting Irish  at 4:15  p.m.  on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Littlestown and Delone Catholic meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again  on Tuesday. The Thunderbolts' pitcher stepped up to hand the Squires  a   15-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Thunderbolts, who have now won nine matchups by eight  runs or more  so far this season.

 Alexis Stonesifer was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only  one  hit over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with one  home run and five  RBI. Those  five  RBI gave  her a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  Ashlynn Gorsuch was  incredible,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with one  home run, three  runs,  and four  RBI. Those  four  RBI gave  her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Hannah Barthel, who  went 2-for-3 with three  RBI and two  runs.
 Littlestown  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .567. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Delone Catholic only posted  an  OBP of  .267.
 Meanwhile,  winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask York Catholic). They put the hurt on William Penn with a sharp  19-7 win on Thursday.
 Littlestown is  on a roll lately: they've  won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. York Catholic's first  win this season bumped their record up to 1-8.
 Everything went Littlestown's way against York Catholic when the teams last played  back in March, as Littlestown made off with  a  16-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thunderbolts since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
