Recap: Northeast Vernon County Knights vs. Jefferson Independent Day Cavaliers
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Dadeville, the Northeast Vernon County Knights were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They took down Jefferson Independent Day 55-41. This was payback for Northeast Vernon County, who suffered a 82-44 loss the last time these two teams met.
Despite the loss, Jefferson Independent Day still got an impressive performance from Ethan Renger, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Renger has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Simon Studer, who scored seven points.
Northeast Vernon County's victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Jefferson Independent Day, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.
Northeast Vernon County will head out on the road to challenge Weaubleau at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Weaubleau's favor as the team sits on nine straight wins at home while Northeast Vernon County has been banged up by nine consecutive losses on the road. Jefferson Independent Day will take on Golden City at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Golden City has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 7.
