Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Navarro

With a playoff win on the line, Navarro rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They beat the Robstown Cottonpickers by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 66-38. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 275th, while the Cottonpickers are ranked 769th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Madi Gilliam had a dynamite game for Navarro, on her way to 19 points and three steals. What's more, Gilliam also posted a 67% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Tegan Harborth was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 16 points and nine boards.

Navarro was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The victory (which was Navarro's fourth in a row) raised their record to 26-14. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points over those games. As for Robstown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 19-14.

Navarro didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 41-23 loss against Cuero on the 21st. Robstown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
