Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is South View's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

South View won the last time they faced Purnell Swett and things went their way on Tuesday too. The South View Tigers blew past the Purnell Swett Rams 57-34. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 23 points or more this season.

South View's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zakiera Gaillard led the charge by going 6 for 11 to rack up 13 points in addition to eight rebounds and six steals. Gaillard has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last five times she's played. Jordynn Parnell was another key player, dropping a double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds.

South View smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 26 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Purnell Swett's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jayda Dial, who posted 12 points, and Kamryn Locklear, who had six points and five steals. What's more, Dial also racked up four boards, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Adisyn Bland, who earned four points and seven rebounds.

South View has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.6 points over those games. As for Purnell Swett, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-17.
