Baseball Game Preview: Chatham Central Bears vs. Northwood Chargers

The Chatham Central Bears will square off against the Northwood Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Chatham Central fell victim to East Columbus and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gators.

Chatham Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brett Phillips, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Northwood also failed to score in their most recent game. They lost 11-0 to Apex on Wednesday. The Chargers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Chatham Central has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Northwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.

Chatham Central suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Northwood when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
