Baseball Game Preview: Olympic Trojans vs. Central Kitsap Cougars

The Olympic Trojans will head out to challenge the Central Kitsap Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Olympic barely beat Sequim the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Trojans blew past the Wolves 14-6 on Thursday. The victory was familiar territory for the Trojans, who have now won four matchups in a row.

Drew Walters was incredible, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Olympic is 5-1 when Walters posts two or more runs, but 0-4 otherwise. Colby Andrews was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Olympic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .532. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Central Kitsap made easy work of Lincoln on Wednesday and carried off an 18-4 win. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Abes: they've now won six in a row.

Central Kitsap's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Olympic, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Olympic came out on top in a nail-biter against Central Kitsap when the teams last played back in April of 2025, sneaking past 8-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
