University has gone 9-1 against Irvine recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Trojans will be playing at home against the Vaqueros at 5:15 p.m. Irvine took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on University, who comes in off a win.

On Thursday, University beat Woodbridge 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.

University had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-22, 27-25, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Irvine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to Portola. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Vaqueros have suffered against the Bulldogs since September 2, 2021.

Irvine was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Portola work for it, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-16, 25-20.

Irvine's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for University, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.

University was able to grind out a solid victory over Irvine when the teams last played back in October of 2023, winning 3-1. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vaqueros turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
