Last Monday, Breese Central got the win against Edwardsville by a conclusive 48-28. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, O'Fallon entered their tilt with Highland on Monday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They secured a 53-47 W over the Bulldogs. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 134th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

O'Fallon's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Breese Central, their victory bumped their record up to 20-1.

Breese Central barely slipped by O'Fallon when the teams last played back in November of 2024, winning 54-53. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was O'Fallon's Haeli Tart, who went 7 for 10 en route to 16 points along with seven boards and six assists.
