Game recap: Hudson High School Football Team takes down Gulf

NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. - Hudson (Fla.) kept up a steady attack all game long to beat Gulf (New Port Richey, Fla.), 30-0, on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Owen Derksen in the second quarter, the Cobras led 14-0 at the half.

Hudson expanded its lead to 23 points entering the fourth quarter. HHS scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Noah Siegrist.

The Cobras' most effective player was Siegrist. The junior running back ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored four touchdowns on the season.

Hudson had struggled this season, allowing 38.0 points per game. But HHS tightened up and held the Buccaneers right around their season average of 1.9 points per game.



The Cobras got revenge for last year's 33-17 loss to Gulf with the victory.

In a 5A District 6 game next week Gulf (0-8) takes on Wesley Chapel, and Hudson (3-5) will go up against Anclote also in a 5A District 6 game.
