Preview: San Dieguito Academy Mustangs vs. Sage Creek Bobcats
San Dieguito Academy has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Sage Creek Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
San Dieguito Academy suffered their biggest defeat since December 22, 2023 on Tuesday. They were dealt a 81-43 loss at the hands of Carlsbad. While losing is never fun, San Dieguito Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 818th, while Carlsbad is ranked seventh).
Meanwhile, Sage Creek's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 66-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Torrey Pines. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sage Creek in their matchups with Torrey Pines: they've now lost five in a row.
San Dieguito Academy has been struggling recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Sage Creek, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-8.
San Dieguito Academy came up short against Sage Creek when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 68-63. Can San Dieguito Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
