Volleyball Game Preview: Messalonskee Eagles vs. Mt. Ararat Eagles + How To Watch

After both having extra time off, Messalonskee and Mt. Ararat will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Messalonskee is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

On Tuesday, Messalonskee made easy work of Brunswick and carried off a 3-0 win.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Messalonskee was: they took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-5, 25-14.

Messalonskee can attribute much of their success to Maggie Hickey, who had eight aces and eight assists, and Alanna Voter, who had ten digs and three aces. Those eight aces gave Hickey a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Messalonskee was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 30 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 16 aces in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Mt. Ararat came up short against Gardiner on Saturday and fell 3-1.

The final score came out to 25-11, 25-15, 20-25, 25-16.

The victory got Messalonskee back to even at 5-5. As for Mt. Ararat, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
