Softball Recap: Capital Comes Up Short

Capital was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the St. Albans Red Dragons, falling 18-2. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 15-0 to the Red Dragons when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Capital saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jadan Bishop, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Bishop has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played.

Capital's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for St. Albans, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Coming up, Capital will challenge Elk Valley Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for St. Albans, they will take on South Charleston at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
