Basketball Recap: Cumberland Falls Short Against Ranked North Providence

On Monday, Cumberland faced North Providence in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Cumberland Clippers took a 58-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Providence Cougars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Clippers of the 65-64 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2020.

Cumberland has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for North Providence, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Cumberland will look to defend their home court on Friday against Bishop Hendricken at 7:00 p.m. As for North Providence, they will head out on the road to take on South Kingstown at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
