Basketball Game Preview: Youngker Roughriders vs. Paradise Valley Trojans

The Youngker Roughriders will take on the Paradise Valley Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Youngker made easy work of Desert Edge and carried off a 49-28 win. The Roughriders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 21 points or more this season.

Ashlee Gonzalez was her usual excellent self, putting up 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniela Barreras, who posted ten points.

Paradise Valley played against Carl Hayden Community and won via forfeit.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Paradise Valley, bringing their record for this year to 13-12. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 24.5 points. As for Youngker, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-12.

Youngker suffered a grim 49-25 defeat to Paradise Valley when the teams last played back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Paradise Valley's Neha Patel, who scored 21 points in addition to eight boards and six steals.
