Recap: Lawrence Upper Lions vs. Varsity Opponent
The Lawrence Upper Lions fought the good fight in their overtime match against Varsity Opponent on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the 68-63. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Lawrence Upper's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Dylan Carmichael, who scored 15 points, and Guy Caster who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Jake Engel, who scored 9 points.
Lawrence Upper's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Varsity Opponent, their victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 65-277-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lawrence Upper will challenge Horizon Science Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Varsity Opponent, they will head out on the road to face off against Central Carolina Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
