Baseball Game Preview: Standish-Sterling Panthers vs. Bullock Creek Lancers

Standish-Sterling is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Thursday. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bullock Creek Lancers at 4:00 p.m. Standish-Sterling's pitching crew has only allowed 0.5 runs per game this season, so Bullock Creek's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Standish-Sterling barely beat Meridian the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers blew past the Mustangs 11-2 on Tuesday. Considering the Panthers have won nine games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Bullock Creek came up short against Clare on Tuesday, falling 10-3.

Standish-Sterling's win bumped their record up to 10-0-1. As for Bullock Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.

Standish-Sterling was able to grind out a solid victory over Bullock Creek in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 7-3. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Lancers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
