Basketball Recap: Tipton Picks Up Eighth Straight Win on the Road

Tipton won the last time they faced Taylor and things went their way on Saturday too. The Tipton Blue Devils skirted past the Taylor Titans 43-40. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Devils.

Leading Tipton to victory were Grady Carpenter and Grayson McFalls. Carpenter went 8-for-19 to rack up 23 points in addition to seven assists and six rebounds, while McFalls went 5-for-7 en route to 12 points and eight boards. The match was Carpenter's seventh in a row with at least 15 points.

Javionne Harris and Keyshawn Galloway certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Harris almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds, while Galloway went 5-for-9 on his way to 13 points. Harris has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 11 times he's played.

Tipton's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points over those games. As for Taylor, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 14-6 record this season.

Looking ahead, Tipton will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Oak Hill at 7:30 p.m. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Carpenter and Jace Tonagel. As for Taylor, they will head out to face off against Rossville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rossville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51 points per game this season.
