Basketball Recap: Legacy Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Legacy Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Austwell-Tivoli Redfish, falling 54-28.

Austwell-Tivoli found their leader in sophomore Mackenzi Cortez, who posted 36 points. Cortez's afternoon made it 15 games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Graycen Lopez, who put up six points.

Legacy Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Austwell-Tivoli, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.

Coming up, Legacy Christian Academy will take on Anahuac in a tournament on Thursday. As for Austwell-Tivoli, they have already played their next game, a 54-29 defeat against Sacred Heart on the 6th.
