Softball Recap: Lakewood Vikings vs. Hamilton Hawkeyes        
        
		
            
 Sadly, Lakewood is still looking for their first win of the season after four  games. They fell  10-7 to the Hamilton Hawkeyes on Saturday.
 For Hamilton's part,  Kelsey Mersman made a splash no matter where she played. She  struck out six batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned  (and six unearned) runs off   nine  hits (and only one walk). Mersman was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while going 3-for-5.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Savanna Eding, who  went 2-for-3 with a  home run and three  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Julia Brown, who  scored two  runs while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances.
 Lakewood's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Hamilton, the  win for them keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
 Lakewood will head out on the road to  take on  Portland at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Hamilton, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  matchup,  a  10-0  loss vs. Reeths-Puffer on the 20th.
