Volleyball Game Preview: Alcorn Central Bears vs. Lafayette Commodores

The Alcorn Central Bears will face off against the Lafayette Commodores at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lafayette took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Alcorn Central, who comes in off a win.

Alcorn Central took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over McNairy Central. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Bobcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Alcorn Central took every set by at least 12 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-5, 25-13, 25-11.

Meanwhile, Lafayette came up short against Lewisburg on Tuesday and fell 3-1. The Commodores have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The victory got Alcorn Central back to even at 4-4. As for Lafayette, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Alcorn Central couldn't quite get it done against Lafayette when the teams last played back in September of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
