Fremont has gone a perfect 10-0 against Monta Vista recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. Fremont will square off against Monta Vista at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Tuesday, Fremont got the win against Lynbrook by a conclusive 11-1. The win continues a trend for the Firebirds in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Monta Vista entered their tilt with MacDonald on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Condor a 14-0 shutout. While the Matadors didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Tim Yin made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Sravik Sajja was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4. He also hit a triple, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Aiden Huang, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run.

Monta Vista hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as MacDonald struck out eight times.

Fremont pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Monta Vista, their record now sits at 7-2.

Fremont skirted past Monta Vista 3-2 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fremont since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
