Soccer Game Preview: El Primero vs. The Nueva School

The El Primero Lobos and The Nueva School Mavericks will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. El Primero's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

El Primero's tournament run continued when they took on Lynbrook on Saturday. El Primero fell 3-1 to Lynbrook.

El Primero's goal came courtesy of Angel Torres, who's now up to four this season.

Meanwhile, The Nueva School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 4-0 to Monte Vista Christian. The matchup was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly the Mavericks struggled afterwards.

The Nueva School's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for El Primero, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

El Primero was able to grind out a solid victory over The Nueva School in their previous matchup back in January, winning 4-2. Does El Primero have another victory up their sleeve, or will The Nueva School turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
