Baseball Game Preview: Moorpark Musketeers vs. Oaks Christian Lions

The Moorpark Musketeers will head out to face off against the Oaks Christian Lions at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Moorpark managed to slip by Royal the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Moorpark lost 8-1 to Royal on Wednesday.

Moorpark saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Woodford, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Oaks Christian waltzed into their contest on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with an 8-3 win over the Centurions.

Oaks Christian also got a great performance from Christian Ipsen as he pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, Quentin Young was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as he's now launched at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Oliver Dauskurdas also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Oaks Christian's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Moorpark, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Moorpark suffered a grim 9-2 defeat to Oaks Christian when the teams last played back in February. Can Moorpark avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
