Baseball Game Preview: Branham Bruins vs. Christopher Cougars

For the second straight game, Branham will face off against Christopher. The Bruins will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Branham 4.1, Christopher 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Branham took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Christopher, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bruins skirted past the Cougars 3-1. The victory was nothing new for the Bruins as they're now sitting on four straight.

For Christopher's part, Matthew Anderson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits.

At the plate, Christopher saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sam Guenther, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Christopher's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Branham, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.
