Recap: New Castle Trojans vs. Delta Eagles
The New Castle Trojans lost against the Delta Eagles back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. New Castle took a 60-45 bruising from Delta. New Castle has struggled against Delta recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Several Trojans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tucker Griffin, who scored 14 points along with two steals. Griffin continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Colin Taylor, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
New Castle's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-10. As for Delta, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-6.
New Castle will head out on the road to take on Pendleton Heights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Delta, they will be playing at home against Rushville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Delta is facing Rushville at the right time seeing as Rushville is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
